Microfluidics teaching lab equipment
We have been involved in several teaching initiatives in which students
interact with microscale technologies and biological structures (e.g.,
cells).
To enable such studies, we have developed an inexpensive platform that
allows students to make observations and quantitative measurements at the
microscale.
The heart of this platform is a student-grade microscope, shown here, to
which a digital camera has been coupled.
Software tools enable real-time imaging and measurement from the video
images.
